Family to be Questioned Over Massacre in French Alps

Police are looking into whether a family feud was at the heart of Wednesday's grisly shootings in the French Alps, NBC News reported. Aeronautical engineer Saad al-Hilli, 50, his wife Iqbal and her mother were discovered dead in a car near Annecy, and 40-year-old French cyclist Sylvain Mollier was also found dead close by. Three of the dead were shot in the head with a semi-automatic weapon, which has led to speculation that they were killed in a professional hit. However, the couple's 7-year-old daughter Zainab and 7-year-old daughter Zeena were found alive. "It seems that there was a dispute between the two brothers about money… The brother will have to be questioned at length,” a prosecutor said — but he was quick to point out that it was just one of a number of possible scenarios investigated by authorities, as it was difficult to see how such an argument could "pass from a financial dispute to a quadruple murder." The British ambassador to France said the older child's injuries were not life-threatening. According to ITV News, autopsies will be performed Friday.
