‘N Sync Reunites for JC Chasez's 40th Birthday

Chasez is the second member of 'N Sync to reach the milestone age

'N Sync has reunited.

While there appears to be no new music on the horizon, Lance Bass, Joey Fatone, Chris Kirkpatrick and Justin Timberlake banded together to celebrate JC Chasez's 40th birthday.

Timberlake shared a picture of the boy band's get-together with his 33.3 million Instagram followers late Monday writing, "JC's 40th... And, if you don't know now you know..."

Chasez is the second member of 'N Sync to reach the milestone age. Kirkpatrick is 44, while Bass, Fatone and Timberlake are all in their 30s. Kirkpatrick poked fun at Chasez on Twitter, sharing an old photo and writing, "Happy birthday @JCChasez! Welcome to the old man club!"

Though their boy band rivals, Backstreet Boys and 98 Degrees, have stayed together and continued to tour, 'N Sync's reunions have been minimal as they each pursue solo endeavors.

In 2013, the "Bye Bye Bye" singers had a 90-second reunion during Timberlake's MTV VMA Video Vanguard Performance.

"Two minutes after seeing everybody you feel like no time has passed," Chasez told Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS-FM radio show. "Essentially everybody has remained the same. And again, we all see each other at different times, working on different things, but this is the first time that we had a rehearsal together in over 10 years. So everybody's going, 'Can we go through this slowly one more time?' That part was pretty funny."

Kirkpatrick agreed that everybody was "exactly the same," telling an Orlando radio station, "I felt so confident again. When I get up there with those guys, I feel like I can't mess up; I can't go wrong. Those are my brothers. That's what we've always done. We just go up and do what we do."

After their 2013 MTV VMAs performance, rumors of a reunion resurfaced every so often. But, as Fatone told The Huffington Post in 2014, the chances of that happening are slim.

"It was fun, it was interesting, but I don't know if it's ever going to happen again," he said. "I don't know whether or not something will ever happen again, but again, you always say 'never say never'," Fatone said.
