A lawyer for the University of Virginia student, who was quoted in a Rolling Stone magazine describing an alleged gang-rape at UVa.'s fraternity party, warned on Wednesday against threats and extortion attempts. The magazine apologized last week for "discrepancies" in the account given by the woman, identified as Jackie. The Washington Post and other news outlets questioned the veracity of the story. The lawyer, Palma Pustilnik of the Central Virginia Legal Aid Society, said "threats and attempts to extort and/or intimidate have been and will continue to be reported to the appropriate authorities."
