At least 50 buildings were destroyed Tuesday as Northern California's Ponderosa Fire continued to rage just outside the community of Manton, The Associated Press reported. The Ponderosa Fire is just one of 35 dangerous fires currently burning across 10 western states, and has scorched 19,627 acres. Officials said they have not determined how many of the destroyed buildings were homes. About 1,900 firefighters tried to contain the blaze, which was sparked by lightning strikes over the weekend. At least 3,500 homes are still at risk in Manton, as well as the towns of Shingletown and Viola, Calif.
