Former ‘Bachelorette' Trista Sutter To Undergo Permanent Birth Control Procedure

Forget eight – it appears two is enough for former "Bachelorette" Trista Sutter and her husband Ryan.

After giving birth to the couple's second child, daughter Blakesley Grace, less than a week ago, Trista has announced that her family is just the way she likes it – and the former reality star is taking steps to make sure it stays that way.

Trista has decided to undergo a permanent birth control procedure.

"Ryan and I always talked about having two children – it really is a dream come true. We didn't want to have to be concerned about an unplanned pregnancy so that is why we decided I would have the Essure procedure. We want to focus our energy on our two little bundles of joy," Trista said in a statement to Access Hollywood.

Essure, for which Trista is also a paid spokesperson, is "a permanent birth control procedure for women that can be performed in minutes in the comfort of a doctor's office."

"By choosing the Essure procedure, Trista will avoid the added pain and recovery time of getting her tubes tied combined with her C-section. The Essure procedure is performed three months after childbirth and this waiting period allows Trista to let her body recover and spend time bonding with her new baby," a rep for Essure said in a statement to Access.

After meeting on "The Bachelorette" in 2002, Trista and Ryan married in a lavish TV wedding in 2003.
