Daniel Craig Finally Signs On for “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo”

After months of being the prohibitive favorite, with only time and Brad Pitt seemingly in his path, Daniel Craig has officially joined the American adaptation of the global best-seller "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo."

More or less the day Craig finishes shooting "Cowboys and Aliens" with Jon Favreau (first peek of him just dropped), he'll zoom off to Sweden to begin filming with director David Fincher, reported Deadline. Craig is perfect for the role, so it's good to see this finally get done.

There were of course some James Bond issues to deal with, but with MGM in a narcoleptic coma, waiting for that project to come together would be folly.

And while the casting of Craig is great news, the big question remains, who will be the Girl With the Dragon Tattoo? Deadline says it's down to Ellen Page, Mia Wasikowska ("The Kids Are All Right"), Emily Browning ("Sucker Punch"), Sara Snook ("Sleeping Beauty"), Rooney Mara ("The Social Network") and Sophie Lowe ("Blame"); The Playlist has it narrowed down to Browning, Snook, Lowe, Mara and French actress Lea Seydoux ("Robin Hood").
