A photo taken outside Cpl. Nathan Cirillo's home in Hamilton, Ontario, showed two dogs peeking out from under a gate near a makeshift memorial to the slain Canadian soldier. Cirillo, an army reservist and father, was shot dead while guarding Canada’s National War Memorial. He was also an animal lover, who often shared photos with his dog on social media. Cirillo’s most recent post described the dogs as "my family" and would regularly post of their antics.
