The sergeant-at-arms of the Canadian Parliament, who shot and killed the man who gunned down a soldier in Ottawa, was hailed as a national hero on Thursday, NBC News reported. Kevin Vickers was given a huge applause from lawmakers as they returned to business on Thursday. "MPs and Hill staff owe their safety, even lives, to Sergeant at Arms Kevin Vickers who shot attacker just outside the MPs' caucus rooms," said Toronto lawmaker Craig Scott.
