Zuckerberg Defends Big Tech, Says Facebook Should Stay Free

The discussion comes as Facebook faces scrutiny from politicians around the world over its data privacy practices

Facebook is committed to remaining free, CEO Mark Zuckerberg said Wednesday as he defended his company's place in Silicon Valley, NBC News reported.

Facebook has helped decentralize society, Zuckerberg said in conversation with Harvard law professor Jonathan Zittrain. It's the first in a series of public discussions Zuckerberg has committed to.

"We want to give everyone a voice. We want everyone to be able to connect with who they care about," Zuckerberg said.
