A video message from Notre Dame basketball player Matt Farrell's brother, a soldier deployed to Afghanistan, had him in tears at Monday's game. Then 1st Lt. Bo Farrell walked onto the court, Today.com reported.
That really got the waterworks going.
The Notre Dame coaching staff was quietly planning the reunion since Bo deployed in May, and they filmed the video message to trick Matt into thinking his brother wasn't in the South Bend arena for the surprise holiday reunion.
It capped a 77-62 win over Colgate, in which Matt put up 13 points.
