Facebook Page Aims to “Keep Pillowcase Rapist Out of Town”

Residents start Facebook page petition to keep "Pillowcase Rapist" out of Lake Los Angeles

Angry that a serial rapist could be released in their neighborhood, residents in a desert community have started a Facebook page to "keep Christopher Hubbart out of Lake Los Angeles."

The Facebook page was started on Friday to push for keeping out Hubbart, a 62-year-old man dubbed the “Pillowcase Rapist," who has admitted to raping 38 women in California between 1971 and 1982.

Community members were outraged after a Santa Clara County judge on Friday said Hubbart potentially could live in the Antelope Valley community when he’s released from prison.

A formal hearing is scheduled in 45 days. He could be released as early as December.

“I, as a person will not feel safe in the only place I call home," Nichole Stone wrote on the Facebook page. "I, as a person should not have to relocate because of a judges decision."

On the page, Stone asks residents to let her know how the move will affect their lives and to include their names, addresses, and phone numbers, for a possible court action.

Lake Los Angeles is located 17 miles east of Palmdale's Civic Center.
