Pakistan Says It Has Tested Its First Submarine-Launched Nuclear Missile

Pakistan's military claimed Monday that it had fired its first submarine-launched cruise missile, an announcement likely to raise tensions between the country’s military and arch-rival India’s million-man army.

As NBC News reports, Pakistan military officials said they’d tested the missile from an undisclosed location in the Indian Ocean. A video release confirms the missile was fired from an underwater location.

India has also been conducting missile tests in recent weeks, as fresh barbs have been traded between the two country’s new army chiefs.
