Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer Has Baby Boy

Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer has given birth to a baby boy named Bogue, according to a tweet from her husband.

The news comes a little more than two months since Mayer left Google after 13 years as an executive (giving just 30-minutes notice) to take the helm at Yahoo.

Mayer's pregnancy fueled a debate in Silicon Valley on whether it was appropriate to sign on for a CEO gig so close to taking maternity leave. Mayer said she would not take a full leave. Instead she planned on a few weeks and would work from home during that time, too, she said.

She told Fortune magazine that she likes to "stay in the rhythm of things." Others have encouraged Mayer to take a full leave, however, to set an example for corporate America, if not just Silicon Valley.

Mayer's arrival at Yahoo has raised spirits at her new company, which had been battered with top-level shakeups and scandals. She's taken to getting her own lunch in the caf and exuding that start-up feel so many engineers and techies crave.
