1st Look Loves: Starry Nights Music + Arts Festival 2012

Successful rockers, critically acclaimed music darlings, and all-around good guys, Cage The Elephant decided to found a festival from scratch in their native beautiful Bowling Green, KY. The band wanted to take their passion for music a step further in creating Starry Nights Music + Arts Festival, and this year’s fun is this upcoming weekend, September 28th and 29th, at Ballance Farms.

Promising  to be a great time, more intimate than many festivals that have become gigantic, and more artist-focused, Starry Nights is encouraging camping under the stars, literally, while enjoying music performed by nationally known artists as well as bands from the vibrant local Kentucky music scene, where Cage got their start.

This year’s line-up includes Cage the Elephant, Portugal. The Man, Manchester Orchestra, The Whigs and Sleeper Agent among many others. With Nashville only an hour away, this fest honors local and community roots and gives a righteously good show.

“We chose bands and DJ’s that move us, and that we thought would fit with the vibe of the festival,” says Cage The Elephant frontman Matthew Shultz. “Starry Nights is about getting everyone together for a good time–It’s definitely about the music, but also, art, games, and just being out there under the stars.”
