Yesterday we took a long, hard look at Dallas’ streets — or what’s left of them. I’d tell you to go back and read it if you missed it, but if you live and drive in Dallas, it doesn’t tell you anything you don’t already know. Long story short: Might be time to get a horse.
When I had Assistant City Manager Mark McDaniel on the phone yesterday I asked how the pothole patching was coming. He said he was in the midst of counting them up before sending Mayor Mike Rawlings and the Dallas City Council a memo due for dispatch Monday evening. It landed in our inbox last night. Landed with a thud. That’s a mighty big number.
Between March 7 and April 11, McDaniel says, "14,100 potholes have been patched" in the city of Dallas. Says McDaniel, that whopping number "represents five times greater than normal patching activity."
