Would-Be Intruder Shot Trying to Enter Home: Dallas Police

Police say more than one person may have been involved in attempted burglary

A would-be intruder is recovering from a gunshot wound after being shot by a resident Tuesday morning in Dallas, police say.

According to police, the resident was inside his home on the 12600 block of Hallum Street when someone tried to enter at about 11:43 a.m.

The homeowner shot at the would-be intruder, striking him at least once before he ran away.

The Dallas police were called and officers soon tracked down the injured man and transported him to a nearby hospital.

Police are obtaining a warrant for the man's arrest and have not yet released his name.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing and police said preliminary information indicates more than one person may have attempted to enter the home.
