The adult son of a woman found dead inside a Denton apartment Sunday has been taken into custody following a police chase in Oklahoma Monday, police say.
Denton police said they were called to the Providence Place Apartments on a suspicious persons call at about 10 p.m. Sunday and that while searching the area they entered an unlocked apartment and found the body of a woman with "obvious signs of trauma" who had apparently been there for some time.
Tuesday, police identified the woman as 65-year-old Sarah Warriner.
Police did not provide any further details about her injuries or initially reveal who they believed the suspicious person may have been. However, Monday afternoon Denton police said Warriner's son, Isaac Warriner, had been taken into custody in Love County, Oklahoma by the Lighthorse Police Department following a police chase.

Chief Frank Dixon said the investigation is already one of the most bizarre cases he's been witness to.

"I don't think we've seen a case like this in Denton County in quite some time, if ever. So when all the facts come out in the case later on, it will show the magnitude of what we’re looking at," he said.
Denton detectives are in Oklahoma working with local authorities on the case.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office has not yet determined how the Sarah Warriner died. If the her death is ruled a homicide, additional charges are expected to be filed.
