Woman Upset Dog Euthanized Before She Could Adopt

A Keller woman is upset that the dog she planned to adopt was put to sleep before she could take the pet home.

Sara Legvold hoped to bring home a chihuahua, but when she arrived at the Garland Animal Shelter the dog had been put down.

The shelter told The Dallas Morning News the dog was euthanized after being too aggressive, but admits they made a mistake by saying the dog was available for adoption.

The animal shelter has been under recent scrutiny for being one of two North Texas shelters that use carbon monoxide gas chambers as a euthanasia method.
