Woman Steals Truck, Leads Police on Chase: Officers

A 28-year-old woman is in custody after police say she stole a truck and led officers on a high-speed chase through several North Texas cities.

A white, 2004 Chevrolet pickup was reported stolen from Balch Springs at 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Seagoville police spotted the stolen truck and attempted to initiate a traffic stop.

However, the driver fled, leading officers from Seagoville, Mesquite, Garland and Dallas County Sheriff's deputies on a chase.

Officers were able to spike the truck's tires, which caused the chase to end safely at about 7 p.m. just off U.S. Highway 75 and West Northwest Highway in Dallas.

No injuries were reported.

The driver, identified by police as Ashlie Anderson, was treated by medics at the scene and then transported to Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas for additional treatment.

Police said Anderson was found in possession of heroin and meth, which means she will face charges for evading arrest and possession of a controlled substance.
