Fort Worth police are investigating a homicide after a woman was found with a gunshot wound to the head early Monday.
Officers were called before 2:30 a.m. to a residence on the 2900 block of West Loraine Street.
The woman, identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office as 54-year-old Maria Cortez, was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.
Investigators have not released other information on the shooting.
