A San Antonio woman has died while parasailing off the South Padre Island coast.
The Cameron County Sheriff's Office said Monday that 47-year-old Dawn Strickland fell to her death on Saturday. According to the U.S. Coast Guard, a boater tried to give Strickland CPR and then notified the agency.
A crew from the U.S. Coast Guard station on South Padre Island continued CPR until Strickland was transported to a local emergency service, where she was pronounced dead.
The incident is under investigation.
