Whataburger Selling Ketchup, Mustard in H-E-B, Central Market Stores

Condiments to be on store shelves May 28

On May 28, H-E-B and Central Market stores across Texas and Mexico will be the exclusive retailer of 20-ounce bottles of Whataburger Fancy Ketchup and Spicy Ketchup as well as 16-ounce bottles of Whataburger's Original Mustard.

The announcement was made Tuesday morning by Whataburger CEO Preston Atkinson at the Whataburger Family Convention, a biannual gathering of more than 2,000 Whataburger devotees.

Atkinson said Tuesday that the company's jalapeno-infused Spicy Ketchup will now become a permanent condiment at all restaurants.

The condiments, including a brand-new potato chip product called Whatafries, will be for sale at all H-E-B locations as well as Central Market stores.

Editors note: In the original version of this story, we reported that the condiments would not be for sale in the H-E-B-owned Central Market family of stores, based on a statement to us from the PR firm handling the story. We are now happy to report that Central Market contacted us and said they will be carrying the condiments and that they should be on store shelves May 28.
