Wet Weather Delays North Texas Construction Projects

Weeks of rain and swelling flood waters may mean longer time frames on some big North Texas construction projects.

Some contractors and developers are reporting significant work days lost to rain and delays in their projects as a result.

Alvin Jackson with Centurion American Development said his company has had to push back some projected completion dates as far as six months due to the weather delays of recent.

He said the biggest problems come when workers have to dig and are finding the grounds to be saturated, forcing them to hold off work.

Water is also an issue for the 35Express project, where communications director Kimberly Sims said workers have had to slow their work on the new Lewisville Lake Bridge due to high water. She said they will continue progress elsewhere for now.

Crews ask the public to continue following safety signs and giving them space as they work to get projects moving and await drier days.
