West Texas Man Sentenced for Stabbing Girlfriend

A West Texas man who stabbed his girlfriend last year has been sentenced to seven years in prison.

KTXS-TV reported that 52-year-old Raul Galvan agreed to a plea deal with prosecutors. He stabbed his 33-year-old girlfriend during an argument in October 2013. The Abilene man was charged with second-degree aggravated assault.

The details of the plea deal weren't immediately available.

Abilene police said the victim suffered several cuts while trying to defend herself. The injuries weren't life threatening.
