Thunderstorms moved across North Texas ahead of a cold front Sunday evening, bringing large hail to portions of Collin County and leaving behind a trail of damage.

NBC 5 viewers sent in photos and videos of the storm as it moved through. It seems from the reports that Allen, McKinney and Frisco may have been the hardest hit areas.

At Atlantic McKinney Ranch Apartment Homes in McKinney, glass littered the ground from dozens of cars damaged in the storm.  Vanessa Cantwell's 2010 Acura TSX had numerous dents in the body and smashed from and rear windows.

All she could do was watch.

"Nothing prepared me for this," said Cantwell. "Nothing. I mean, what can you do? You can't stop it."

American Airlines confirmed Monday morning at least one aircraft at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport sustained damage due to Sunday evening storms. The airline tweeted to a passenger that all aircraft would be inspected before takeoff.

The Cottonwood Creek Church in Allen sustained some hail damage to its roof. The second floor of the church was flooded and water seeped onto the first floor.

"We had people here, and it lasted about twenty minutes," said Scott Sanford, executive pastor. "It was a thunderous type of unique sound. Something they had not experienced in their lives."

Sanford likened the church roof to "swiss cheese" because of the massive number of holes in it.  He said the sanctuary and new chapel were not damaged.

Pockets of severe weather continued into the early morning hours of Monday in counties to the east and northeast of DFW. Most of the storms were out of the area and weakened by 2 a.m.

Much of Sunday will be dry, but a few showers and storms will be possible Sunday evening. The biggest threat for strong to severe storms late Sunday will be east of Dallas.  Elsewhere, the risk for storms to become severe is lower.
