Police and school officials are investigating after a Waxahachie High School student allegedly made a hit list that included the names of several fellow classmates.
Parents of the Waxahachie students whose names were included on the list were contacted after the alleged incident, according to a statement from the school. All other school parents were sent an automated message informing them of the situation, school officials said.
I want to assure you that we take all threats seriously," Waxahachie High School principal Al Benskin said in a statement. "Any student who makes a threat will be disciplined according to the WISD student code of conduct, which calls for removal from the campus."
School officials said as soon as they learned of the alleged hit list, they contacted police.
The student, who has not been identified, was removed from campus and could now face criminal charges.
