Police Arrest Man After 4-Wheeler Pursuit in East Dallas

A wanted man is in custody after being pursued by Dallas Police Friday morning while riding a four-wheeler in neighborhoods and parks around East Dallas.

Dallas Police told NBC 5 that officers were trying to arrest the man when he slipped away on the all-terrain vehicle.

From Texas Sky Ranger, the man appeared to be driving recklessly and speeding both on and off the road.

After a chase of more than 30 minutes, the man dumped the four-wheeler in a field behind Julius Dorsey Elementary and tried to escape on foot through a nearby neighborhood.

The man was taken into custody about a half-mile away along the 100 block of Apache Lane.

Dallas Police have not said why the man was wanted.
