Automotive Shop Catches Fire in Garland Industrial Park

An auto parts dealer in a Garland industrial park caught fire Friday afternoon.

The 2-alarm fire at Roger's Auto Machine and Parts at 3734 Dividend Drive began sometime around noon.

Firefighters arrived and were seen spraying water on the single-story warehouse, where black and white smoke was billowing from the roof.

By 3:30 p.m., firefighters had the fire tapped out.

Surrounding businesses were not affected and no injuries have been reported.

The cause has not been confirmed, but officials said sparks from a machine may have started the fire.
