Charles Sprague, 44, whom police describe as a violent sexual predator, left a Fort Worth halfway house and cut off the 24-hour electronic tracking device he is required by law, authorities say.

He is described as Native American, about 6 feet 6 inches tall and 240 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He was last wearing a black leather jacket, dark jeans, white sneakers and carrying a clear backpack.

Maypearl police said Sprague attended Maypearl High School and apparently has ties to people who currently live in the community, so officials are asking the community to be on the lookout.

Anyone who sees Sprague should call police immediately.
