Vehicle, Driver Sought in Deadly Fort Worth Hit-and-Run

Fort Worth police are searching for the vehicle and driver involved in a deadly hit-and-run Thursday.

Police said a man was walking across Azle Avenue near the intersection with West Long Avenue in northwest Fort Worth at about 9:29 p.m. when he was struck by a vehicle that was traveling north on Azle.

The vehicle, described as an early 2000s model Jeep Cherokee, left the scene.

The pedestrian who was struck was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His identity has not been released.

Police said the Jeep likely has damage to the driver's side, including a broken front-left headlight and side light and possible damage to the driver's side mirror.

Investigators released a surveillance image of the suspected vehicle Friday.
