Wow, the folks over at the Deep Ellum Foundation are absolutely giddy about the artwork that now adorns the Bark Park, and they want to share the love.
The latest news from around North Texas.
This Friday, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the canine playground, the foundation dedicates a mural depicting more than 25 dog portraits painted by more than 25 local artists on the park pillars.
Organizers veritably gushed in the official invitation using phrases such as "most dearly loved Dallas four-legged friends," and "famous and most beloved dog park," so, yeah, they're pretty excited.
Oh, and music for the unveiling event comes courtesy of "the ever-loved DJ Ez Eddie D." Yup, pretty excited.
Because the art world is beset upon all sides by self-anointed critics, and because the pup-portraits are painted on pillars in the park, there's a good chance a leg or two might be lifted on the art.
Then again, that's not necessarily a bad thing in the canine world.
