UNT Unveils New Student Union

The University of North Texas debuted its long-awaited student union Friday.

Construction of the more than $100 million, 300,000-square foot University Union spanned more than two years and suffered multiple setbacks.

“We are very proud of the Union,” University Union director Zane Reif said.

The University Union features a Starbucks, an Apple store and 13 restaurants, seven of which are franchises like Fuzzy’s Tacos and Burger King.

Students will also have access to four video game lounges, a meditation center, nap furniture, a 500-seat theater that doubles as a classroom during the day — the only undergraduate student art gallery on campus — and more.
