Authorities said they found a 7-year-old boy safe and charged his uncle with kidnapping shortly after activating an Amber Alert overnight.
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office in Oklahoma activated the Amber Alert for Cash Umina just after midnight Thursday. They suspected that he was with his 39-year-old uncle, Jason David Montgomery, who was diagnosed schizophrenic.
The Amber Alert was discontinued at 2:25 a.m. when Rockwall police said they found Montgomery and Umina.
They said they used cellphone tracking to locate Montgomery.
Rockwall police said Umina was unharmed. Marshall County sheriff's deputies released him into his grandfather's custody at about 8 a.m.
Montgomery was taken to the Rockwall County Jail and charged with kidnapping, according to authorities.
