Thursday is the last day to apply amnesty in the Texas Department of Public Safety's Driver Responsibility Program.
In the program, eligible drivers will pay only 10 percent of what they owe, up to $250, and have their suspended driver licenses reinstated.
So far, only 14 percent of the 713,444 people eligible have signed up.
The one-time amnesty program is for drivers who have had a surcharge assessed between Sept. 30, 2004, and Dec. 31, 2008, and are delinquent on those payments.
The DPS said no other amnesties will be offered once the April 7 deadline expires.
