TxDOT to Repair Potholes Along US 75

Drivers in Collin County will need to avoid a portion of US Highway 75 starting Sunday night.

The Texas Department of Transportation plan to repair a pothole problem in the McKinney area.

Crews will be forced to shut down all lanes of US 75 southbound between US Route 380 and Virginia Parkway from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.

Residents said there are so many potholes in the area, many drivers swerve to avoid them, which can result in very dangerous driving conditions.

“You have to strategically go right between them to miss them and dodge traffic,” said McKinney resident Mary Dunn.

Dunn has a 6-year-old son and said as of now, she doesn’t feel comfortable driving that stretch of highway.

“If you get into the left-hand lane, the potholes are just crazy," Dunn said. "People are always dodging them. Traffic is always slow going through there.”

“I have to get way too close to the wall, way too close for comfort,” Dunn said. “I just can’t wait for them to get fixed.”
