TxDOT Analysis of Spike Strips to Stop Wrong Way Drivers

Many NBC 5 viewers suggest a solution for stopping wrong way drivers is to place spike strips on highway exit ramps, which would ideally disable a vehicle traveling in the wrong direction.

Engineers with the Texas Department of Transportation have studied this suggestion and released the following report detailing why spike strips would not be a viable solution.
