Two People Arrested Outside Dallas FBI Building

Two people were arrested Tuesday evening outside the Dallas FBI field office after they used their vehicle to forcibly stop an FBI employee's vehicle, according to a bureau statement.

At about 5:35 p.m. a man and woman stopped the FBI employee who was exiting the building's parking lot, the FBI said, and they blocked the road with their vehicle.

The road leading to the office near Interstate 35E and Storey Lane was closed for several hours while investigators used a robot to investigate the suspects' SUV. At one point the robot was seen removing what appeared to be a laptop bag from the SUV.

Dallas and Irving police officers assisted at the scene, and police say no officers were injured.

There was never an explosion, and the scene was cleared at about 9:30 p.m.

The FBI says the two people were released into the custody of Dallas police while they undergo mental health evaluations.

Additional details on the investigation have not yet been released.
