Two Injured in Shooting at North Dallas DART Station

Injuries not considered life-threatening; gunman at large

Two people were injured when someone opened fire on a group of people outside a North Dallas DART rail station Sunday night, DART police say.

The victims said they were walking through the parking lot of the LBJ/Central Station when a vehicle passed them at about 11 p.m. Witnesses said the driver then made a U-turn as someone inside the vehicle began firing several shots in their direction.

Two of the people were hit and were transported to an area hospital with injuries that were not life threatening. The third person managed to escape unscathed after running away from the shooter, but returned after police arrived.

There is no description of the vehicle, or shooter, and no arrests have been made.

Officers from both the Dallas and DART police departments were called to the scene, but because the shooting occurred on DART property DART officers are leading the investigation.
