Two Dallas Cops Fired

Accusations of sleeping on the job and letting a crook go free lead to firing.

Two Dallas police officers were fired after meeting with chief David Kunkle on Thursday.

Senior Corporal Gerald Williams is accused of allowing a recruit to handle a call while he sat in the police cruiser. Investigators also claim Corporal Williams slept while on duty on two different occasions.

Officer Bobby Cole is accused of entering false information on a police report and failing to fully investigate an incident. Officer Cole is also accused of violating off-duty employment policies. The Dallas Morning News reported that Officer Cole let a suspected robber caught in the act go free.

Both officers can appeal their termination.
