Three Hurt in Two-Alarm Fire at Dallas Apartments

Dallas Fire Rescue crews battled a two-alarm fire Friday evening at a south Dallas apartment complex.

The fire was reported before 8 p.m. in the 8000 block of Marvin D. Love Freeway, near U.S. Highway 67 and Interstate 20 at the Brandon Molls apartments.

Fire crews at the scene reported heavy fire and smoke coming from a two-story apartment building.

Firefighters believe the fire started in the kitchen of a unit.

Three people were transported from the scene, including one for smoke inhalation, one for a laceration and one for stroke.

Eight units are damaged and the Red Cross is assisting residents.
