Truck Fire Shuts Down US 75 Near I-635

An early-morning fire involving an 18-wheeler shut down northbound traffic on U.S. Highway 75/Central Expressway in Dallas on Wednesday.

The truck caught fire at about 4 a.m. on 75 near the Coit Road exit. The scene is just south of the connection to Interstate 635.

Dallas Fire-Rescue responded to the scene and were able to extinguish the fire, however the truck's fuel tank was damaged and caused a fuel spill.

Hazmat crews were called to contain the spill.

Northbound lanes of traffic were shut down for over five hours while crews battled the fire, cleaned the fuel spill and eventually moved the truck.
