Officials in Wise County are hoping ankle monitors will solve a problem with chronic truants.
Justice of the Peace Terri Johnson can now assign students who are habitually absent to sport the ankle monitors for 30 days.
Johnson presides over Precinct 2, which includes Decatur, Chico and Alvord school systems.
Johnson told the Star-Telegram that the monitoring system will ideally help make the students more accountable for their actions.
