Triple Digits: 23 Days and Counting

It was another triple-digit day in Dallas-Fort Worth -- the 23rd straight day for the temperature to rise to 100 degrees or higher.

The temperature reached 100 at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport at 2 p.m. Sunday, and no relief was in sight.

The National Weather Service forecast called for more triple-digit readings all week long in the Dallas area, including a predicted high of 104 on Monday.

The record is 42 days, set in the oppressive summer of 1980.

North Texas is under a heat advisory until 9 p.m. Monday, with the heat index forecast to be between 105 and 110.
