Joel Magee wants to buy your toys.
Magee runs a travelling toy expo called America’s Toy Scout where he looks to buy toys from the 1950s onward, especially old action figures, dolls, trains and toy guns.
“I get a lot of people who say you made my day because I got my visit my childhood again, if just for a second,” Magee said.
“You part with everything eventually. Can’t take it with you,” said Garland resident Lynn Chandler, who sold $400 worth of toy guns.
Magee said he even buys parts from collectibles and board games so he can assemble them later into complete sets.
It’s not only an opportunity to buy, trade, and sell toys, but also to revisit classic childhood memories.
“This brings back people’s childhood memories, and they go back to a time where they didn’t have the responsibilities of life,” Magee said.
The expo is in town at the Courtyard Marriott in Irving through Monday afternoon.
