Tony Romo Named SI's Media Person of the Year

Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback and favored fan scapegoat Tony Romo has been named the 2017 Media Person of the Year by Sports Illustrated. [[459650663,R]]

With no network broadcasting experience at all, CBS Sports gambled and named him their lead analyst in April.

The move paid off as Romo quickly became one of the fan favorites as he'd call out formations and plays before they took place.

"Romo’s knowledge of the league—specifically the formations and fronts of teams and how an offense attacks a defense—made him an invaluable resource for NFL viewers," SI said in their lognform interview.
