Officers arrived to the 300 block of Church Street Wednesday at about 8:10 p.m. on a disturbance call, according to a news release Thursday by Pilot Point Police Chief Rick Sadler.

Police said a man had driven his pickup truck into a driveway there, striking two vehicles and then shot the woman once, killing her.

The victim has been identified as 51-year-old Rhonda Holmes who was pronounced dead at Denton Regional Medical Center.

Sadler said the suspect in the shooting, Holmes's husband Wilford "Nemo" Holmes then shot himself and was transported to Plano Medical Center where, at last check, he was still alive.

Also injured in the incident were the victim's 69-year-old mother who was struck when the vehicles collided, and her 83-year-old father who police say was assaulted prior to the suspect shooting himself.

The Pilot Point Police Department continues to investigate the situation.
