Three Major Companies Relocate to Plano

Liberty Mutual Insurance and Plano city leaders broke ground on the company’s new facility Wednesday

The campus will bring 4,000 new jobs to Plano, including 2,000 current employees that will be re-located from other parts of Texas.

"This is our first significant new campus outside of the northeast,” CEO David Long said. “It comes following a rigorous and extensive review resulting in the indisputable conclusion that Plano, Texas is the place for Liberty Mutual to grow."

Liberty Mutual will be a major part of the new business park Legacy West. It’s located on the southwest corner of Texas 121 and the Dallas North Tollway.

Legacy West will also include a 300 room Renaissance Hotel, housing, more office buildings and up to 40 new restaurants, including the second Shake Shack in Texas.

Plano Mayor Harry Larosiliere said Toyota announcing its move to Plano jumpstarted the trend of corporate relocation to the city.

"As progress continues, I want people to know that the city of Plano is intentional and strategic in how we build. You hear the concerns about traffic and growing too fast, we're managing that. We're ahead of the curve, we’re in communication with all the relevant parties,” LaRosiliere said.

Liberty Mutual is scheduled to open in 2017. Hiring will begin early next year.
