Two people are dead and one is in critical condition after a shooting and robbery in Oak Cliff Monday night.
The incident took place inside a home on the 2500 block of Western Park Drive in West Oak Cliff.
Police said 50-year-old Ammy Soumphonphankdy and 18-year-old Debbie Thammavonsa died at Methodist Hospital Tuesday afternoon. Soumphonphankdy was initially in critical condition was not expected to survive after suffering a severe brain injury after being shot in the head.
The other victim person, a man, is still in critical condition.
Police are searching for a two-door, maroon-colored Dodge in connection with the shootings. At this time, police revealed no information about the shooter.
Investigators said there are no signs that the shooter forced his way into the home and that a lot of property, including a television, camera, jewelry and other items, were stacked on the floor near the front door.
"It's a very sad day, because of what happened yesterday to the family," said Robert Munoz, who lives next door to the home. "Very sad and very heartbreaking, words cannot express our pain. We feel like our privacy has been invaded. It's still in our hearts. When I heard about it, the minute I heard about it, my stomach began hurting and I feel very uncomfortable about the situation.
Munoz added that there was a lot of noise and commotion at the home Monday and that many cars were stopping by the house. He said there was no arguing and it looked like more of a garage sale or yard sale but that there was nothing of the sort going on.
Munoz and his wife stayed home from work Tuesday because they said they were unable to sleep Monday night and are concerned about future violence.
