The question isn't whether Dak Prescott will be the Cowboys' quarterback come 3 p.m. Tuesday, the deadline for a contract or yet another franchise tag. Even if they can't put a ring on it by then, the tag, a given at that point, simply kicks the can down the road to July 15, supposedly the mother of all deadlines.
But even then, contract in hand or not, Dak will still be the Cowboys' quarterback this fall.
And that's the problem here because no matter what happens, nothing ever changes.
