A Texas Panhandle woman has been indicted in the April beating and shooting death of her husband's ex-wife.
Randall County jail records show 29-year-old Katie Yvonne Spielbauer of Amarillo was being held Saturday on a capital murder charge with bond set at $400,000.
The Amarillo Globe-News reports a grand jury Wednesday indicted her in the death of 32-year-old Robin Diane Spielbauer. The victim's body was found in a ditch near her SUV just west of Amarillo.
A warrant says Katie Spielbauer, who days after the slaying was charged with murder, believed her husband and the victim were having an affair. Deputies confiscated a pink handgun at the defendant's home. A criminal complaint says damage to the weapon matches some metal recovered as evidence.
A defense attorney declined comment Friday.
